35 GHz Negative Slope Equalizers
Broadband Amplitude Equalization - Precision, Stability, and Durability from 3 GHz to 35 GHz.
Spectrum Control’s EQ3009 series provides passive cable loss compensation from 3 to 35 GHz. Its negative slope response applies more attenuation at lower frequencies and less at higher frequencies, helping offset losses that increase across a microwave signal path. The result is a flatter combined response and more consistent signal levels in communications, radar, aerospace, and RF test applications.
Available with 10 dB or 15 dB delta slopes, the EQ3009 series lets designers select the level of correction that best matches their measured response. Each compact, bidirectional unit features 2.9 mm male and female connectors, a maximum insertion loss of 2.0 dB at 35 GHz, and an operating temperature range of -54°C to +125°C.
How it Works
As cable attenuation increases with frequency, the EQ3007 introduces a complementary negative slope attenuation profile that offsets cable loss. The combined response produces more consistent signal levels across the operating band, helping maintain system performance through 26.5 GHz.
Why it Matters
Cable losses become increasingly significant at higher microwave frequencies, where even small variations can affect overall system performance. The EQ3007 provides passive cable loss compensation to improve gain flatness and preserve signal integrity in demanding high-frequency applications.
Understanding the Response
- Cable Loss: Attenuation increases with frequency across the operating band.
- Negative Slope Equalizer: Complementary attenuation offsets cable-induced signal loss.
- Equalized Response: Combined response delivers improved gain flatness and amplitude consistency through 26.5 GHz.
