For more than 70 years, Spectrum Control has been setting the standard for reliability in mission-critical air, land, sea, and space applications. Our solutions enable critical defence platforms across NATO operations, coalition partners, and key UK/European platforms.

Spectrum Control has a strong heritage of technical prowess and manufacturing excellence built over seven decades. The company’s focus has been in two distinct areas: conditioning & processing of RF and microwave signals and protecting equipment from electromagnetic interference. These major categories have evolved to encompass adjacent technologies, including power distribution systems for high-rel applications, optical transmit/receive modules, and high-temperature electronics.

During those 70 years of successful growth and market expansion, the company has acquired or merged with synergistic companies and operating divisions to address market opportunities and to fill gaps in our product line. Today’s Spectrum Control is comprised of more than 40 businesses and product groups, the oldest of which is C-MAC, dating back to 1953.

We’re redefining RF and system integration with scalable subsystems, compact architectures, and mission-tailored assemblies that drive agility, reduce SWaP, and enable coalition-ready, forward-compatible solutions.

High Temperature Electronics

 HIgh Temp Module.png

Our hybrid multi-chip modules (MCMs) are suitable for continuous operation at Ultra High Temperature (225°C) and under severe mechanical shock and vibration.

Spectrum Control's specialized technique using bare die on thick film ceramic interconnects overcomes the high-temperature performance and reliability limitations of traditional glass fibre laminate printed circuit boards.

Applications

Relevant applications include but are not limited to:

  • Hypersonics controls
  • Near-engine sensor networks
  • Space: launch platforms and satellites

Operating temperatures

  • Standard temperature -55°C to 150°C
  • High Temperature 150°C to 175°C
  • Extreme high temperature 175°C to 200°C
  • Ultra high temperature 200°C to 225+°C

Quad-Channel Tx/Rx Modules

Modular COTS solution for rapid development/deployment of active antenna array systems and sub-systems.

Spectrum Control’s Quad Transmit Receive Module (QTRM) is ready to use out of the box for AESA radar systems. Each module includes four transmit/receive channels, built-in control logic, monitoring, and protection features. Its modular design allows radar teams to rapidly build scalable antenna arrays, reducing integration complexity and total cost.

Key Features

  • RS485 Half-Duplex, 5.0 Mbps serial data bus for control and monitoring.
  • DSP externally programmable via JTAG
  • TX output power, HPA temperature, operating current and power supply health monitored and reported on request
  • Direction cosines used for beam steering
  • 4-bit array address code giving up to 16 QTRM sub-array (64- element array)
  • TRM’s respond to individual address or broadcast messages.
