Spectrum Control has developed a family of ultra miniature high Q RF filters in surface-mount, BGA packages. Operating from 500 MHz to 10 GHz, these filters are ideal for use in lowpass, highpass, bandpass and diplexer applications.

Overview

Spectrum Control has been a leading provider of high quality, high performance RF filters for more than 40 years. We have applied our RF filtering expertise to deliver a dramatic reduction in filter size while providing exceptional performance. The new MMG filter family delivers high selectivity with low insertion loss and temperature stability in an extremely small form factor with BGA mounting.

To achieve this size and performance breakthrough we have employed a novel manufacturing approach using integrated passive devices in glass. This 3D process allows us to build unique solenoid inductor structures that offer superior Q performance compared to other filter technologies, specifically over the 0.5 to 10 GHz frequency range. The wafer-scale process also provides an extremely high correlation between filter simulations and the manufactured product giving us high predictability for custom filters. The performance and quality are also highly consistent, run-to-run.

Stop-band suppression greater than 60 dBc from DC - 2.5 GHz and 5.8 to 15 GHz, typical 15% from the band edges

SAW Filter Family

Spectrum Control designs and manufactures high-rel SAW filters for today’s military and commercial markets. Spectrum Control provides standard solutions for narrowband, GPS band applications, standard IF, and standard RF bands.

Spectrum Control's design library consists of filters from 20 MHz up to 2600 MHz with semi-standard and custom solutions available.

Spectrum Control breaks new ground for SAW filters by adding high power (HP) input capabilities. Input power levels up to +35 dBm CW at +125C and covering narrow, wide, and fractional- bandwidths across frequencies of 20 MHz to 1.6 GHz.
