Acquires Surface Acoustic Wave Technology
Fairview, PA, December 1, 2009, ---- Spectrum Control, Inc. ( NASDAQ:SPEC ),
a leading designer and manufacturer of custom electronic products and systems,
announced today that Spectrum Microwave Inc., its wholly-owned subsidiary, has
acquired substantially all of the assets and assumed certain liabilities of
Micro Networks Corporation, a subsidiary of Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (
NASDAQ: IDTI ). The total purchase price of the acquisition was approximately
$13 million. Dick Southworth, Spectrum Control's President and Chief Executive
Officer, commented, "We are very pleased to complete this acquisition, which
expands our microwave capabilities to include surface acoustic wave ( ‘SAW’ )
products and technology. SAW filters, along with related high-performance and
high-precision frequency control products, are a natural complement to our
existing microwave capabilities, as these products predominantly serve our major
targeted markets of military, aerospace and communications equipment."
